February 8th-10th, February 16th-19th

We have packed a lot into two short weeks!

Carnaval was a great success. The students had a wonderful time outside taking part in the different activities. A big thank you to the students who were a part of Club Carnaval.

The students enjoyed our three days of curling in the gym.  We learned the rules, etiquette and techniques. Our instructor encouraged us to get some practice at one of our local rinks!

In Health, we have been looking at Nutrition and balanced eating. We enjoyed cutting up a variety of vegetables.  We then added items from the other food groups such as beans, tzatiki and cheese to make a "salad in a pita". Ask your child what they added to their pita.

We had our third session with storyteller, Jeff Stockton. He taught us about the "WHOOSH" feeling in our bellies when we speak in front of an audience. I can certainly relate to that feeling! We are working to become more confident when we are speaking.

We had a fantastic first day of yoga. You can certainly tell that many of the students have done yoga before.

In Math, we continued working on our math grocery challenges. As the students work through the challenges, we are teaching a variety of skills needed to complete the tasks. This week we worked on rounding numbers and on subtracting from 10 000. Subtraction is tricky when regrouping so many times!
