May 16th to May 19th

In Science we are working on creating crystals using three different types of salt and a special secret ingredient.  We identified the different variables including; jar size, type of string, water temperature, type of salt and amount of time spent stirring the salt solution. Next week, we will examine the results and determine which salts created the most interesting crystals. 

We watched a portion of the movie "Inside Out" and discussed the different emotions represented. We are discussing and writing about our memories and feelings associated with each emotion. This week, we wrote about Anger, Sadness and Disgust. 

The students have been fascinated by the changes that are occurring with the caterpillars. Ask your child what is happening with the caterpillars exoskeleton and why they are creating a silk like web within their habitat. 

There is no school tomorrow or Monday so we will see the students back on Tuesday. Next week is busy with the Volunteer Appreciation Thursday afternoon and Greg Le Rock on Fridsy morning. We also have our trip to Heritage Park on Wednesday, June 1st. It is going to be a busy few weeks!
